Jeff Bauer Named Dean at UC Clermont College

Jeffrey C. Bauer has been named dean of UC Clermont College, effective May 15, 2015. University of Cincinnati Senior Vice President and Provost Beverly Davenport, announced this appointment today, pending approval by UC’s Board of Trustees.

 

"Jeff has proven himself a strong and successful leader at UC Clermont," said Davenport. "I look forward to working with him in this new capacity as dean."

 

For the past six years, Bauer has worked as the department chair of the college’s business, law and technology department, which encompasses 10 academic programs and serves more than 900 students. He is a professor of management and marketing.

 

“I look forward to working with my UC Clermont colleagues to meet the communities’ educational needs to prepare our graduates with critical thinking abilities and job-ready skills. I want to continue our mission of providing cultural activities and creating a hub for the arts,” said Bauer.

 

At UC Clermont, Bauer oversees a $2 million budget, 20 full-time faculty and staff and more than 50 adjuncts. He has written and presented extensively about the organization of regional colleges, their relationship with university administrations and diversity in faculty and technology. Bauer has been at UC Clermont for 20 years.

 

An experienced consultant and expert in statistical analysis, Bauer brings a strong combination of academic and non-academic experience to his new position. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Business in marketing from Wright State, he received his M.B.A. from the University of Dayton and worked as an analyst for the Dayton Power and Light Company for six years. He also operated his own consulting company before focusing on a full-time career in academia. In 2002, Bauer earned his Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Sarasota.

 

Bauer is also an accomplished teacher, winning numerous accolades for his efforts in the classroom, including the Order of Omega’s Professor of the Year award. He has also taught at Clark State Community College in Springfield, Ohio, and Xavier University.

 

Bauer, lives in Union Township, Clermont County and is married to Petra Hackenberg-Bauer, MD, a pediatrician at Anderson Hills Pediatrics, and has two children Alexander, 18 and Kristina, 13.
