Lindner Associate Dean Named New Dean at Top European Business School

Marianne Lewis, associate dean of Undergraduate Programs at the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, has been named Dean of Cass Business School at City University London, one of Europe’s top business schools.

Lewis has been a professor of management at the UC Lindner College of Business faculty since 1996 and has served as its associate dean for Undergraduate Programs for nearly a decade. Under her leadership, undergraduate student applications and student quality have grown significantly. Since 2010, the size of the Lindner incoming class has increased by 55%.

In partnership with the undergraduate faculty and staff as well as Lindner’s external partners, Lewis has overseen the launch of many innovative programs, such as the Lindner Fast Track freshman experience, the Marvin P. Kolodzik (KBS) business honors program and the school’s PACE curriculum, which focuses on the continual development of each individual student’s Professionalism, Academics, Character and Engagement (PACE).

“Marianne has been an invaluable member of the Lindner team for years and we’ll certainly miss her leadership, dedication and enthusiasm,” Lindner College of Business Dean David Szymanski says. “We’re all extremely proud of her and know she will accomplish great things at Cass.”

“I will be forever grateful for my opportunities at UC and will never forget the partnerships I forged with our students, our alumni, our employers and my colleagues,” Lewis says. “I am extremely proud of Lindner’s leadership in experiential learning and business honors programs as well as the exceptional dedication continually shown by its faculty and staff.”

Lewis will continue at Lindner in her role as associate dean throughout the summer while the search for her replacement is underway.
