UC Clermont's Calico Children's Theatre Announces 2015-16 Season

UC Clermont’s Calico Children’s Theatre Announces the 2015-16 Season. Calico Children’s Theatre is a UC Clermont College initiative geared toward families with young children. Join us for an exciting lineup of high quality entertainment and fun pre-show activities for children and their families. Sit back and relax as you enjoy entertaining story lines with puppets, silly songs with a Grammy nominated children’s musician, and celebrate the holidays at the UC Clermont College Calico Children’s Theatre this season.  All performances are held in the Krueger Auditorium on the UC Clermont College campus at 4200 Clermont College Dr. and are approximately one hour long.

The Wizard of Oz
Presented by The Frisch Marionettes

Always a Calico favorite, The Frisch Marionettes turn this popular American fairytale it into an inspiring story about unlocking the potential that exists within each of us. Celebrate America's rich musical heritage as you travel down the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy to find out why a Lion, Tin Man and Straw Man are all singing the Blues.

With a background in children’s literature plus a GRAMMY® nomination for his kids’ songs, Zak Morgan brings all of his life experiences and a simple delight in words and music to his live performances.  His interactive concerts are warm, full of humorous wordplay, and fun for all ages.

When a kindly shoemaker gives his only remaining pair of shoes to a cold and hungry beggar woman, he finds his good deed rewarded in very unexpected ways. The shoemaker is shocked by the appearance of magic elves who turn his simple shoe shop into a great success, thrilling customers with their special creations. Soon the Queen hears of this unique shoe shop, but can the Shoemaker impress her without the elves? Based on the tale by the Brothers Grimm, this beloved, warm-hearted story reminds us that where we find goodness, generosity and hope, anything is possible. Recommended for grades K-8

Families, join us for breakfast and photos with Santa along with goodies and crafts for kids!  This annual event, sponsored by UC Clermont College, Student Life, is FREE and open to the public.
