Watch Out for These Summer Construction Detours
University of Cincinnati is once again on the move with projects to improve the campus with new construction, renovations and repairs. Some members of the campus community may need to alter their driving, parking or walking routes due to these projects.
CCM to TUC Bridge Repairs
Beginning Monday, June 27, the bridge between CCM's Mary Emery Hall and Tangeman University Center (TUC) will be closed for 4-6 weeks.
During University Pavilion (UP) business hours foot traffic will be routed through the second floor One Stop area:
- Monday Thursday 7 a.m. 6:15 p.m.
- Friday 7 a.m. 5 p.m.
- Saturday, 7 a.m. 2:15 p.m.
- Sunday, closed
Outside of UP business hours, access to the CCM garage will be limited to Bearcat Way (the pathway between Catskeller and Nippert's West Pavilion). Mobility access is available via the lift inside the University Pavilion bridge entrance, across from Veteran's Programs & Services.
Planning + Design + Construction has indicated that it will attempt to leave a lane open on Backstage Drive during these repairs. However, a schedule of Backstage Drive closures may not be received in time to notify the university community.
Lot 13 Closure
The Academic Health Center master plan includes a new home for the College of Allied Health Sciences, which will result in the permanent loss of Lot 13. Parking Services has begun implementation of a plan to transition Lot 13 parking customers into Lot 16 and Eden Garage.
Lot 13 is anticipated to be closed in early August.
New Residence Hall Construction Requires Scioto Lane Closure and Relocation of Air Compressor
Due to construction of the new residence hall next to Scioto Hall, it is anticipated that Scioto Lane will be closed between the two ramps of University Garage throughout the project (estimated to open in fall 2018). University Lot will be closed effective July 1; reciprocity will be available in the Alumni Lot (when not reserved) and Stratford Lots. Permit access to Level 1 of University Avenue Garage will remain open on the North end of Scioto Lane.
In addition, the air compressor currently located at University Avenue Garage will be relocated to the dock area of French Hall (near Dabney).
Victory Parkway Campus Parking Lot Addition
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) will be moving to the Victory Parkway campus beginning fall 2016. A parking lot is under construction in the area to meet the new parking demands. This move will allow Parking Services the opportunity to increase the number of permit holders in CCM garage beginning in September/October.
