UC Lindner College of Business to Host Conference of Supply Chain Thought Leaders
Top academic researchers in the Supply Chain field will gather at the Lindner College of Business UC July 10-13 to meet with corporate leaders about solving their most critical industry supply chain issues by focusing on the big data environment faced by all.
Corporate leaders from Procter & Gamble, Toyota, General Electric Aviation and 84.51° will give company tours to more than two dozen thought leaders from top academic schools such as Wharton School of Business, MIT and Kobe University to acquire insight into solving issues that arise in areas such as transporation, inventory, expanding markets, e-commerce and manufacturing practices.
The purpose is to use data to identify research opportunities to help our industry partners solve key supply chain issues, says Michael Magazine, professor of OBAIS (Operations, Business Analytics and Information Systems) and Ohio Eminent Scholar at the Lindner College of Business.
The congregation of academic supply chain thought leaders has been gathering for 25 years each summer in alternating locations in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Magazine is chair of this years committee at Marriott Kingsgate Conference Center. Michael Fry and Uday Rao, both professors of the OBAIS Department at Lindner, and Glenn Wegryn, Director of the Business Analytics Center at the Lindner College of Business, are also on the local event committee.
