Hoxworth Blood Center & Gaslight Gourmet Cookies Offering a 'Sweet' Incentive for Blood Donors
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati is asking local blood donors to roll up a sleeve in exchange for a sweet incentive from Gaslight Gourmet Cookies.
Individuals who donate blood at the Gaslight Gourmet Cookies will receive six fresh cookies from the local bakery. The event will take place from 9-11 a.m., Thursday, April 27 inside a donor bus parked outside the business at 272 Ludlow Ave., Clifton.
One of the great perks of being a blood donor is getting to indulge in some delicious snacks after donating, said Alecia Lipton, spokesperson for Hoxworth Blood Center. We are thrilled to partner with Gaslight Gourmet Cookies to provide our donors with an extra special gourmet treat as a thank you for saving the lives of patients in our area hospitals.
Lipton also noted the personal aspect of the blood drive, saying that the owner of Gaslight Gourmet Cookies, Tom Jacobsen, has a brother who used 34 units of blood following a car accident many years ago.
