UC DAAP students illuminate Cincinnati in inaugural BLINK parade

 

 

Students in the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning participated in the BLINK event taking place in Downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine Oct. 12-15. Their lit-up designs were displayed in the event's kick-off parade Oct. 12.

More than 500 students worked in four-to-five-person teams to create "Body Mantles," wearable designs responding to the body as a site for creative production. Using at least 100 pieces of an inexpensive or free material, these constructions represent an update to the DAAP Body Mantle Project that has been a shared experience for first-year students in the college for nearly a decade. This year's project introduced the use of illumination components to fit the BLINK theme.
