CCM Preparatory and Community Engagement presents the
Fall Youth Ballet Concert

directs the mixed-repertoire ballet performance, which features the students of the CCM Youth Ballet Companies.
The annual dance concert features talented CCM Prep students from ages nine through adult, performing traditional and contemporary works choreographed by CCM Prep students and faculty. Tickets are on sale now and are available through the

The program opens with
Strangers in the Night
, set to music by Frank Sinatra with choreography by CCM Prep student
Anna Faist
. CCM Prep students will then perform an excerpt from
Napoli
, also known as
The Fisherman and His Bride
. This story ballet, originally choreographed in 1842 by Danish choreographer
August Bournonville
, tells the tale of an Italian girl who falls in love with a poor fisherman. The pair finally wed after they endure many trials and tribulations, and their friends present special dances at their wedding. These wedding dances will be performed at the Fall Youth Ballet Concert.
The main highlight of the performance is
Babes in Toyland
, featuring music by Victor Herbert with choreography and direction by CCM Prep ballet faculty members Thomas Bell, Ana Bird, Heather Cameron-Johnson, Jonnie Lynn Jacobs-Percer, Sergey Pakharev and Tricia Sundbeck. Originally an operetta, this work focuses on Mary-Mary Quite Contrary and Tom-Tom the Pipers Son, two residents of Mother Goose Land. They hope to get married, but the sinister town miser, Barnaby, has other plans for them. They encounter mischievous trees, an evil toy maker and other conniving characters along the way, but ultimately the couple finds their happily ever after.
