Calling All Singers: Teams Needed for UC Sing Off Competition
Calling all singers! The University of Cincinnati is looking for faculty and staff who are interested in participating in a friendly choir competition.
UC will host its annual Sing Off event to bring employees together to celebrate the arts and spread awareness for the annual ArtsWave campaign. We need participating teams to showcase their amazing singing talent. If you sing in a church choir, perform in musical theater or if you simply sing in the shower, we would love for you to participate. UC choirs from previous competitions have won Fan Favorite, The Healing Melodies and Most Inspirational Performance, HarmoniCATS.
Teams comprised of between four and 20 members are needed to compete in this fun and exciting event. If you are interested in singing with a team or leading a team, contact Arlene Foster at
or 513-556-5228.
The UC Sing Off Competition will be held Thursday, March 8, in the African American Cultural and Resource Center Main Lounge, 60 W. Charlton St. from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. Those interested in participating can learn more at a meeting set for noon on Wednesday, Jan. 31, in Edwards Two, room 3355.
*NOTE:Team members must be UC employees and cannot be paid professionals or students.
The winning team from the UC Sing Off is invited to participate in the semi-finals for the annual citywide singing competition CincySings.
CincySings is intended to bring Cincinnati together to inspire community pride, celebrate the arts and its impact and most importantly, raise awareness for ArtsWave. CincySings semi-finals will take place March 18 at the Jarson Kaplan theater at the Aronoff Center. Up to eight winning teams from the semi-finals will go on to compete at CincySings, which will be held April 10 at Music Hall.
