Alum s Artwork Featured at UC Clermont

The solo exhibition “Line, Link Shape”, featuring paintings and printmaking by Dayton artist

Gretchen Durst Jacobs

, is on display in the Park National Bank Art Gallery at UC Clermont College through Feb. 1.

Durst Jacobs, who earned her master’s degree in fine art from the University of Cincinnati and has painted for 20 years, says that adding printmaking — the process of making pictures or designs by printing them from specially prepared plates or blocks — to her body of work has allowed her to explore new avenues of creativity. She has taught and exhibited artwork throughout Ohio and Wyoming.

“As I enter a greater phase of personal confidence and a mature connection to my own creative process, I find my work parallels a willingness to boldly go into uncharted waters,” Durst Jacobs said. “In this willingness, I discovered the courage to explore printmaking, which has opened up my process, allowing me the freedom to experiment with new practices and concepts.”
