The Tobacco Free UC initiative demonstrated the power of teamwork and collaboration. More than 62 UC community members played essential roles with the policy development and implementation. The committee was included faculty, staff and students representing Campus Services, HR, Facilities and Management, Public Relations, Athletics, Student Life, health profession colleges as well as our regional campuses. The Tobacco Free committee’s role for the coming academic year will focus on increasing awareness of the policy and cessation resources. On-going projects include conducting periodic environmental scans, hosting educational events (Great American Smoke-Out, Kick Butts Day, and more), and communicating the policy through multiple channels. Meeting minutes and committee membership can be viewed on the Tobacco Free UC website.

Check out the Tobacco Free UC website for details on One Year Anniversary celebrations scheduled for this Summer and Fall 2018.
