, finishes its world tour at the Festival de Cine de Cartagena, the oldest film festival in Latin America. "Visitas" has been seen at Festival des Films du Monde (Montreal), International Festival of Friburg (Switzerland), Festival Latino of Chicago, Festival of Granada (Spain), and was selected among the most important five films of 2005 by the International Film Festival of Austin, Texas.

Anne Sisson Runyan

, Women's Studies, was honored as an Eminent Scholar at the recent International Studies Association annual meetings in Chicago. The award was given by the Feminist Theory and Gender Studies section, the Women's Caucus and the International Political Economy section of ISA. A panel organized in her honor featured nine well-known scholars in the field who spoke about the impacts of Runyan's research, teaching and activism on the field of International Relations (IR). The panel was titled: "Eminent Scholar Panel: Anne Sisson Runyan: Engendering IR as a Responsible Scholar, Teacher and Activist."

, Judaic Studies, offered his presentation "Jewish Resistance in Wartime Greece" March 12 at the Embassy of Greece in Washington, DC. It was presented by the Ambassador of Greece, Alexandros P. Mallias, in cooperation with the Office of Public Affairs of the Washington DC Jewish Community Center. "Jewish Resistance in Wartime Greece" is the first systematic study of the Jews in the Greek resistance based on archival research and personal interviews. Bowman has assembled a preliminary list of over 650 individuals who fought or served with Greek Resistance forces. These include andartes and andartisses (men and women guerrillas), interpreters, recruiters, doctors, spies, nurses, organizers and a number of non-Greek Jews who volunteered or were trapped in Greece during the war years.

, Romance Languages and Literatures, is one of 25 international scholars asked to speak at the "International Symposium on the History of Sexuality in the Middle Ages" to be held May 3-6 at the University of Tucson. This three-day event brings together scholars from all over the world. Each invited participant gives a formal presentation at which all others are present, allowing for intensive critique and interaction among those present. This year's participants are from the United States, the United Kingdom, Austria and Australia. In May, Scarborough will publish, as executive editor, the 26th volume of the

, Journalism, is a finalist in the 2007 National City and Regional Magazine Awards competition, for work she did as editor of the summer 2006 issue of Cincinnati Wedding. Seventy-three judges representing 35 publications, including Atlantic Monthly, Esquire, O, Sports Illustrated, The New York Times, Glamour, Marie Claire and Gourmet and journalism scholars from the Missouri School of Journalism selected the finalists. Cincinnati Wedding is a finalist in the new category of ancillary publications, nominated alongside publications including St. Louis magazine and Palm Springs Life. Winners will be announced at the CRMA's 31st annual conference in Denver in May.
