The sixth annual Cincinnatus Scholarship Competition is coming up Saturday, Feb. 2, when up to 1,200 high school seniors will come to the University of Cincinnati to compete for $11 million in scholarship awards. Students who can't come to campus Feb. 2 can still compete when alternate dates are held Feb. 8 and Feb. 25. A total of 1,500 students are expected to qualify for Cincinnatus scholarships this year.
The Financial Aid Office is now asking UC faculty and staff to volunteer as assessors for Cincinnatus. The assessors would evaluate two group problem solving exercises involving the high school students. Faculty and staff would need to plan to be on campus from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. the day of the competition.
New volunteers are asked to attend a two-hour training session, and previous assessors should undergo a review that takes about 30 minutes. To sign up to volunteer and for training, contact Leah Stewart, associate director, Student Financial Aid Office, 556-9171 or e-mail email@example.com
