Hoxworth Blood Center, the UC Center for Community Engagement and UC's Just Community are sponsoring what is hoped to be a record UC turnout for a blood drive Jan. 15, 16 and 17, from10 a.m.- 4 p.m. daily at the Event Pavilion. William Harris, director of the Center for Community Engagement, says the goal is to get at least 500 units for the local blood supply.
"This is open to the entire UC community, not just the students. We want individuals to embrace the paradigm of the Center for Community Engagement, to demonstrate that the University of Cincinnati is a just, caring and giving community," says Harris.
Donors who are Cincinnatus Scholars and Darwin T. Turner Scholars can also count their donation as an hour of contributed community service. To schedule an appointment, call Genise McKenzie, Hoxworth Blood Center, at (513) 558-1562 or contact the Center for Community Engagement, (513) 556-1559.
