A grand opening celebration for the University of Cincinnati Faculty Technology Resources Center (FTRC) and the co-located Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CET&L) will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, in Room 301 Braunstein Hall. An invitation to the university community to attend the grand opening came from UC President Joseph A. Steger, along with Provosts Anthony J. Perzigian and Donald C. Harrison.
Renovation for the new CET&L was completed last spring, across the hall from the newly located FTRC in Zimmer Hall. Wayne Hall, Vice Provost for Faculty Development, says the centers will provide one-stop shopping for faculty's pedagogy needs.
The celebration at Braunstein will include a presentation from Carol Barone, vice president of EDUCAUSE, a nonprofit organization that works to promote excellence in higher education through the use of technology. EDUCAUSE programs include professional development opportunities as well as awards for leadership and best practices. Barone's presentation is titled, "Technology in the New Classroom."
Following the presentation, a wine and cheese reception will be held outside 411 Zimmer Hall, the location of the FTRC and the CET&L.
