Basketball rivals UC and Xavier will team up to score for local schools during the Crosstown Help-Out Saturday, Feb. 17.
The universities' students, alumni, fans, friends and staff will come together to benefit urban schools in need of cleanup, basic repairs, painting and playground construction. Participants will first gather between 8-9 a.m. at XU's Armory Fieldhouse before heading out to local schools to work from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Volunteers will then return to XU for a "chill and grill" with music, food and prizes in the Armory Fieldhouse.
About 550 volunteers are expected to turn out to help areas schools in Bellevue, Bond Hill, Corryville, Covington, Madisonville, Millvale, Norwood, Price Hill and both the East End and the West End as well as other neighborhoods.
