Activist Angela Davis to Speak Tonight

Former Black Panther activist Angela Y. Davis, who was placed on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted List in 1970, imprisoned for 16 on charges of kidnapping and murder and later acquitted, will be the featured speaker at a lecture Friday evening, May 10, in University of Cincinnati's Zimmer Auditorium.

Davis will discuss gender, race and state violence in her presentation, which begins at 7 p.m. A reception will follow from 9-10 p.m. at the UC Faculty Club.

Both events are free and open to the public. Sponsors include the Center for Women's Studies, the Friends of Women's Studies, the Department of African American Studies and many other campus groups. For more information, call (513) 556-6776.
