"Home Work" is the name that artist Patrick Dougherty has given to his nearly finished sculpture near UC's West Campus main gate.

Reactions to UC's new sticks sculpture range from "Where's the Big Bad Wolf and the Three Little Pigs?" and "If it sprouted leaves, it would be a giant Chia pet" to "This is so exciting. I love it."

All of that is just fine with Patrick Dougherty, the North Carolina sculptor who has been leading teams creating it, and Anne Timpano, director of DAAP Galleries, who worked to bring the artist to campus. Dougherty
