Cincinnati - Top administrators at the University of Cincinnati will explain how future UC students will enjoy roomier rooms and tastier food without paying the price in a special presentation at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17 in the Hunter Room of the UC Alumni Center.
The Food & Housing Master Plan was put together under the direction of James Tucker, Associate Vice President for Administrative Services and Steven Sayers, Assistant Vice President for UC's new Campus Services unit.
Although UC will invest $151 million over the next 15 years to improve its residence halls and open modern new halls, room rates will remain unchanged for three years in a row. Tucker will explain how energy savings and other efficiencies are saving UC millions without sacrificing quality.
NOTE: Tucker and his staff have been honored nationally and internationally for their efforts in this area.
New food options will bring more choices and flexible payment plans for the 33,000 students, 13,000 UC employees and the estimated 180,000 visitors who come to UC's campus in a year's time. Eating will also be more enjoyable at facilities such as a new open-air café in the center of campus.
Earlier this year, UC broke ground on the newest housing facility in 25 years. The Jefferson Hall Complex will open in the fall of 2002.
