Les Gruseck, UC technician in Facilities Management, loves blues music. After attending the Chicago Blues Festival in 1991, he realized he also loved and had a talent for photographing the blues.
Ever since he has been snapping shots of Blues performers. Gruseck estimates that he has taken over 15,000 photographs of more than 100 blues artists during the last 10 years.
"I only do blues artists," notes Gruseck. "I always liked the music. That's the best part of it. I have fun taking photos, catching these people, but [the music] is what drew me to it in the first place."
Gruseck exhibits his work very rarely, but created a special exhibit called " Les Gruseck's Faces in Blue." The exhibit can be seen at the Marx Law Library until the end of June.
