University of Cincinnati Hosts Louisville for Homecoming 2001

The theme of the University of Cincinnati's Homecoming is the Bearcat Beach Bash, but once the Bearcats take on Louisville at Nippert Stadium, the Cardinals will discover the Cincinnati field is no sandbox. Homecoming 2001 takes place Saturday, Oct. 27and it's hoped the crowds will beat last year's attendance record of 32,924. Cincinnati Fire Chief Robert Wright will be grand marshal of the Homecoming Parade.
Here is what's in the works for Homecoming 2001:Homecoming Hospitality Tent-- 9 a.m. on McMicken lawn. Get your free mug with coffee or hot chocolate while supplies last.
24th Annual Great Bearcat Run-- 10:45 a.m. on Clifton Avenue. The 5K (3.1 miles) run begins on Clifton, winds through campus and wraps up at Nippert Stadium. Registration is $10 before Oct. 19 or $15 after Oct. 19; T-shirt costs an additional $10.
Homecoming Parade-- Begins at 11 a.m. on Clifton Avenue and proceeds down Martin Luther King drive.
All Alumni Luncheon-- Noon, McMicken lawn. Cost: $10 for members of the UC Alumni Association, $15 nonmembers.
Homecoming Game-- 2 p.m., Nippert Stadium. Homecoming king and queen are crowned at halftime. Reserved tickets $10 for members of the UC Alumni Association, $15 nonmembers.
MindGames-- 2-5:30 p.m. Lindner Hall, sixth floor. The Honors Scholars Program hosts this new seminar at Homecoming. Concurrent sessions feature UC professors who will demonstrate how the works of the university are impacting communities at home and abroad. Keynote speaker is Mitchel Livingston, vice president for the Office of Student Affairs and Human Resources.
Fall Alumni Concert --8 p.m., Corbett Auditorium. Featuring the University of Cincinnati men's and women's choruses and chorus alumni.
