Here's another chance to view, own 'One Day'

If you missed the premiere back in October, then be sure to check out the rebroadcast of the WCPO-TV special, One Day: University of Cincinnati, coming up on Channel 9. The show will be broadcast at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14.

The one-hour video can also be purchased at the UC Bookstore for $14.99. It stars UC in a program that was shot on the university campuses May 31, 2000.

This special introduces viewers to College of Business Administration students getting a "crash course" in managerial effectiveness by creating products to protect eggs during a three-story drop, plus College-Conservatory of Music musical theater major Jasmin Walker who hopes to join the prestigious list of famous performers who are CCM alumni. It also shows why law professor Christo Lassiter finds it important to coach a student softball team and why Connie Ragiel of the College of Nursing opened a clinic in Over-the-Rhine. Although the cameras could not catch every UC student, faculty or staff member in action, it does focus on several other members of the UC community and dispels many myths about college life.

The 'One Day' special was produced by UC alumni Jim Friedman and Polly Carroll. Friedman -the winner of 11 International Film Festival awards and 45 regional Emmys - is a 1978 graduate of UC's nationally ranked industrial design program. Carroll earned a master's degree in communication from UC.
