The University of Cincinnati's required two-day orientation for freshmen will be held on West Campus July 1-Aug. 1. Freshmen who have been admitted to UC and have returned their confirmation to the Admissions Office should register for orientation now, so that they can register for fall quarter classes. Freshmen are required to attend orientation this year and will not be able to register for classes unless they attend, says Russell Curley, director of Educational Services.

The UC New Student Orientation explores a student's move from high school to college from the points-of-view of both the student and the family. Programs for parents and students reveal both the excitement and the anxiety of a new student's entry into college. They'll also learn what UC has to offer both in and out of the classroom.

Curley adds that students who have registered for orientation will receive confirmation for their registration date, in which they'll be asked for payment of $75 per student and $35 per parent.

For additional questions about orientation, call the hotline at (513) 556-2486, or e-mail
