Jeri Ricketts, associate professor of accounting in the University of Cincinnati College of Business Administration, has been appointed the new director of UC's Carl H. Lindner Honors-PLUS Business Program.
Ricketts will work closely with Norman Baker, UC provost emeritus who founded the scholarship program in 1996 to help nurture Greater Cincinnati's best and brightest business students. The program's intention is to groom talented business students for careers with locally-based corporations and firms. Baker is retiring this summer but will continue as a consultant to the program.
A full-tuition scholarship is given to each Honors-PLUS scholar. Each also receives real-world experience through an internship and mandatory co-op, mentoring from workplace professionals, leadership training, plus a month-long study abroad trip during the five-year bachelor's program.
Ricketts graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Louisville and worked in public accounting as an auditor for KPMG. She returned to school at the University of Cincinnati, earning an MBA and PhD in accounting. She was appointed to the UC accounting faculty in 1985.
