UC has declared Saturday's home football game with Tulane "Public Safety Appreciation Day" and will offer free admission to all public safety employees in the Greater Cincinnati area to the 7 p.m. contest.
Area police, sheriff, fire and emergency response personnel will be admitted free, along with one guest each, to the Oct. 6 game by presenting their badge or other form of identification at any gate at Nippert Stadium. There will be a special salute to the public safety personnel during pre-game ceremonies.
"This is our effort to show our appreciation for our police, firemen and other emergency response forces, both for their continued service to our community and as a tribute to those in New York who lost their lives in the World Trade Center tragedy," said senior associate athletic director
John Sheffield.
