UC's Public Safety Appreciation Day Oct. 6

Date: Oct. 2, 2001
Archive: General News

UC has declared Saturday's home football game with Tulane "Public Safety Appreciation Day" and will offer free admission to all public safety employees in the Greater Cincinnati area to the 7 p.m. contest.

Area police, sheriff, fire and emergency response personnel will be admitted free, along with one guest each, to the Oct. 6 game by presenting their badge or other form of identification at any gate at Nippert Stadium. There will be a special salute to the public safety personnel during pre-game ceremonies.

"This is our effort to show our appreciation for our police, firemen and other emergency response forces, both for their continued service to our community and as a tribute to those in New York who lost their lives in the World Trade Center tragedy," said senior associate athletic director John Sheffield.
