The startup of UC's new branding campaign and unveiling of a new university logo means the end of service for the university's old logo, fondly referred to in UC circles as the "dueling horseshoes."
Such an event shouldn't pass without notice, so on Monday morning shortly after the new logo was unveiled to the general public, members of the university community were given an opportunity to participate in the "pitching of the horseshoes." Contestants ranging from incoming freshmen looking to identify where their classes would begin on Thursday to UC president Joseph A. Steger took part in the challenge.
Showing an excellent release point in her technique with the horseshoes, at right, is Shamekko Early, who will be a second-year student this year in UC's College of Business Administration.
Equally good form in the contest on McMicken Commons was demonstrated, below, by Kyle Klaserner, a student in the McMicken College of Arts and Sciences.
