The Tangeman University Center closed in mid-March for the first major renovations in over 30 years. It won't reopen for several years, but when it does, it will be more airy and open than ever before.
The new TUC will keep the old center's distinctive cupola, clocktower and neoclassical fašade looking out on McMicken Commons. However, Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects will open up the interior using skylights, tall windows, and a three-story atrium.
When the building reopens, it will include a bookstore, theater, restaurant, food court, new Great Hall, and more.
While waiting for the new TUC, feel free to look at back and enjoy some memories of the old TUC. You'll find historic photos, fun facts, and even some "home movies."
