Velta Kelly-Foster, interim associate dean for the College of Evening and Continuing Education (CECE), will be honored as one of Greater Cincinnati's Leading Women of the Year. Kelly-Foster is scheduled to receive the award at a March 7 luncheon at the Millennium Hotel Cincinnati.
Leading Women, Inc., a coalition of 52 women's groups, was formed in Cincinnati in 1995 to highlight Women's History Month and to recognize women in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky for their accomplishments and contributions to the community. Kelly-Foster was nominated in the category of consultants/trainers/education.
As part of the honor, the organization will contribute $100 to the charity of Kelly-Foster's choice: Black Career Women, a nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering the careers of African American women.
Kelly-Foster's responsibilities at CECE include the management of the college's credit and noncredit courses, community outreach programs, budget and personnel.
