Wright-Patterson Air Force Base personnel will gain convenient access to an advanced business education thanks to a new MBA program option from the University of Cincinnati's College of Business Administration (CBA).
The start of UC's fall quarter marked the start-up of the UC-Wright-Patterson AFB Mid-Day MBA program, a program specially tailored to fit into the schedules of base personnel. A ceremony celebrating the new program featuring personnel from Wright-Patterson and CBA will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3 at noon in the base's Education and Training Flight classroom facility in Building 125. Among those attending will be CBA Dean Fritz Russ and Dr. Vince Russo, Executive Director of Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC), Wright-Patterson AFB.
A total of 33 students are enrolled in the inaugural class for the program, which is being hosted by the ASC unit. Eventually, the program will have the capacity to handle annual classes as large as 48 individuals. Students will take courses from 11 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. two days a week. Lectures will be delivered both in person and by video-conferencing technology, with at least 50 percent of the lectures given on site at Wright-Patterson. Content and support for the classes will be available to the students on-line.
Creation of the program offers numerous benefits to both the students and the UC MBA program.
"This is an exciting expansion of our MBA program because we are able to serve an important and underserved constituency - civilian and military personnel," says Larry Gales, director for the new program.
"These are excellent prospective students who will be serving the Air Force and the country at a critical time. The skills and knowledge that we can provide are integral to their day-to-day jobs and to their career development. We are proud to provide convenient access to a high-quality MBA program for these students."
