Calhoun Residence Hall, because of it’s location on campus, is a convenient place to stay overnight. Linen service is provided, but we still advise bringing your own bed sheets or a sleeping bag, a pillow, blanket, and towels as needed for a maximum of two-night stay. If you need linens please request them upon your check-in at Calhoun Residence Hall.
Check-in for overnight stay is in the lobby of Calhoun Residence Hall. You may unload your overnight luggage curb-side near Calhoun Residence Hall. To get close to Calhoun Hall, take Calhoun Street (one way) and take a right on Corbett Drive. Calhoun Hall will be on your right at the end of the drive. This route has a considerable number of steps leading to the entrance of Calhoun. It may be easier for you to park in CCM Garage or Calhoun Garage and carry your overnight luggage the short distance to Calhoun Hall (see campus map).
Calhoun Hall does not have storage space or concierge service. Please leave your luggage in the trunk of your vehicle until check-in time. In fact, you may find it more convenient to first check-in, pick up your room key and then unload your luggage at your leisure.
- If you are arriving on the day of your orientation your check-in time for overnight stay is from 4:00-8:30 p.m. If you are arriving on the day of your orientation, please leave your luggage in the trunk of your vehicle until the overnight check-in time. Proceed to the Orientation check-in desk in Tangeman University Center Level 4. At the end of the day, you may check-in for your overnight stay, pick up your room key and unload your luggage.
- If you are arriving the day before your orientation your check-in time for overnight stay is from 7:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
Check-out, on Day 2 of your orientation, is from 7:00–7:30 a.m. The morning session on Day 2 begins at 7:45 a.m. for students. Please allow enough time to eat breakfast. Breakfast is on your own, but keep in mind the many options available on and around campus.
May students and parents be roomed together for overnight stay in the residence hall?
Students of the same gender will be roomed with other new students randomly. Parents and guests will be roomed with preferred family members or guests if requested at time of check-in. Parents and guests also have the option of having a room to themselves during their stay.
May students request single occupancy during their overnight stay in the residence hall?
Due to space constraints, we regret we cannot honor requests for single occupancy rooms. Student who stay overnight in the residence hall will have a roommate.
