Student Bearcats Bound Orientation Schedule

Orientation Check-In

Be prepared to show a photo ID at the orientation check-in desk in Tangeman University Center. Acceptable forms of a photo ID are driver’s license, state ID, military ID, or passport.

If you have been accepted into the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), you have a different schedule. Please see the enclosed insert. If you did not receive an insert,
please call 513-556-2486 or go to www.uc.edu/orientation.


Overnight Accommodations Check-In

If you are planning to stay overnight in Siddall Residence Hall, the check-in desk is located in the lobby level of the hall (see Overnight Accommodations).

  • If you are arriving on the day of your orientation your check-in time is from 4:00–8:30 p.m.Please leave your luggage in the trunk of your vehicle until the overnight stay check-in time
  • If you are arriving the day before your orientation, your check-in time is between 7:00–11:00 p.m.

What New Students Can Expect

During your Bearcats Bound Orientation, you will:

  • Meet and interact with your Student Orientation Leaders (SOLS)
  • Meet and interact with other new students
  • Find out what it’s like to be a UC Bearcat
  • Learn about your University of Cincinnati
  • Receive academic advising and register for your first semester of college classes

Please bring some new school supplies to donate to the Bearcats Bound School Supplies Drive.

DAY ONE – STUDENTS

CHECK IN LOCATION:

7:25 - 7:40 a.m. CHECK IN:  College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS)
                     
students who need to take the math placement test
                      will check-in at this time.
7:30 - 7:40 a.m. CHECK IN:  Honors students and parents of Honors students
                      will check-in at this time.
7:35 - 7:40 a.m. CHECK IN:  UC Athletes and parents of UC Athletes will
                      check-in at this time.
7:40- 8:55 a.m. CHECK IN FOR ALL OTHER STUDENTS and PARENTS.
9:00 a.m. Welcome
9:45–10:45 a.m. Small Group
11:00 a.m.– 12:30 p.m. College Program I
12:30–1:30 p.m. Lunch at your College (will be provided)
1:30 p.m. College Program II
2:30–5:00 p.m. Taking Care of Business
2:30–5:00 p.m. UC Bookstore Open House
2:45–5:00 p.m. Student Spotlight
2:45–5:00 p.m. Concurrent Sessions from six units

 

DAY TWO – STUDENTS

7:00–7:30 a.m. Check out of Siddall Residence Hall
7:00–7:45 a.m. Breakfast on your own - Enjoy the options on campus
7:45-9:15 a.m. Just Community
9:30-10:30 a.m. Library and UCIT
10:45-11:15 a.m. Public Safety
11:15-11:25 a.m.  Degree Progress Audit
11:25 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. SOLS Panel with Athletics Coaches
12:30 p.m.
  • Residence Hall Tour (optional)
  • One Stop at One Stop (optional)
 
NOTE: This is a sample schedule and is subject to slight changes. You will recieve the final program in your packet at Bearcats Bound Orientation.  You must check-in before attending any session in order to be able to register for classes.

Bearcats Bound School Supplies Drive

Please bring some new school supplies to donate to the Bearcats Bound School Supplies Drive. Bring your items to the orientation check-in desk and place in the donation box. Get a good start by making a positive impact on your new home community! The school supplies will be donated to a Cincinnati area elementary or middle school to help children in need.

Be generous in participating in the Bearcats Bound School Supplies Drive, and join us in serving the littlest among us!

Requested items include: 

  • crayons
  • pencils
  • pens
  • markers (waterbased)
  • erasers
  • glue (white, non-toxic)
  • notebooks
  • pencil box or case

Your donation will reach a needy child in time for the start of the new school year and you can help boost their confidence.

Note:  Monetary donations will be accepted at the Orientation desk, in lieu of, or in addition to, your school supplies donation. All donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated.
