Considerations in Preparing a Course Syllabus to Reflect PBL:
- Consider how the course fits into the program curriculum
- Revise existing course goals and learning objectives to reflect renewed curriculum
- Include additional appropriate goals and learning objectives for PBL (problem solving, communication, etc.)
- Reflect new assessment methods (i.e. group products, peer evaluations, presentations, etc.)
- Incorporate background information regarding PBL
- Reflect planning for time required for PBL in the class schedule
- Include due dates/requirements for assessments such as peer evaluations and product submissions
