RE: Real Food Challenge
On behalf of the University’s senior leadership team, I want to extend our admiration and appreciation to Page Kagafas and her student colleagues at LEAP (Leaders for Environmental Awareness & Protection) for collaborating with the campus community to raise awareness about the critical and timely issue of nutrition. The Real Food Challenge proposal is both thorough and thoughtful, and I commend LEAP’s leadership team for their commitment to maintaining a data-driven, evidence-based approach to their planning efforts. Indeed, the University is fully supportive of implementing the Calculator instrument and thereby getting a baseline read on where we stand vis-à-vis our food system. From there we can continue the dialog on how LEAP and the University’s administration can partner together to bring about real and lasting change.
