Charge |
- The Diversity Council serves as the all-university governance committee charged with building an institution-wide capacity to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse campus that embraces diversity as one of our core values, infusing every aspect of campus life and purpose, and every measure of success. The council recognizes a very broad and inclusive concept of diversity that includes commonly recognized considerations such as race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability status, socioeconomic status, sexual identity, sexual orientation, religion and regional or national origin. It will guide the univerity’s efforts to conceptualize, define assess, nurture and cultivate diversity and inclusion as institutional and educational resources at the university.

- 1 Chair (convenes/chairs meetings, sets agenda, provides reports)
- 1 Chief Diversity Officer
- 2 Students (1 from Student Government; 1 from Graduate Student Association)
- 2 Faculty selected by the Faculty Senate
- 1 Dean representing the Academic Operations Committee
- 2 Representatives of Academic Units appointed by the Provosts
- 2 Representatives of Administrative Units including the Associate VP for Human Resources, appointed by the President (e.g., Athletics, Organizational Development, etc.)
- 3 Representatives of Student Affairs and Services appointed by the VP Student Affairs
- 1 Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management
- 1 Director of Equal Opportunity
- 1 Representative of UC|International
- 1 Representative of University Communications
- 1 Representative of the University President
2 Members of the Cincinnati community (1 alumnus, 1 non-alumnus)
- 1 Representative of the Center for the City
- 1 Representative of Institutional Planning
