University of Cincinnati President's Report 1998 - The Lighting of a Fire

Conclusion

As you can see, we have come a long way since 1819. As Yeats pointed out, one has to build a "fire" to make education lifelong. We hope you realize that at the University of Cincinnati we have remade our university to provide an excellent educational environment, a quality faculty, and a sound financial base.

Considering there are over 3,700 two-year and four-year educational institutions beyond high school in the United States, where 1,023 are four-year (public and private) and 608 are public, the University of Cincinnati is generally, depending on college or specialty, in the top 1 to 15 percent when compared to these colleges and universities.

All dreams are welcome at the University of Cincinnati.
