Goal 3: Achieve Academic Excellence

  • UPTops in the Nation - DesignIntelligence magazine named UC's interior design program number one in the nation. Our graduate architecture program ranked number two in terms of overall quality; the architecture program ranked first among the Top Ten Most Innovative Architecture Programs; and the industrial design program ranked number two.
  • C-PawMoving the Needle - UC moved forward 15 spots in the latest U. S. News and World Report ranking. Princeton Review also named UC a Best Midwestern University.
  • UPIntegrated Core Learning - A new initiative, ICL will combine Liberal Learning, First Year Experience and Learning Communities, Experiential Learning, and a re-visioned Honors Scholars Program to enhance student learning and the undergraduate experience.
  • SidewaysAccess Pathway - The Center for Access and Transition continues a record of transition success as 45 percent of first-year students entering UC in 2004-2005 with learning deficits transferred into baccalaureate colleges by winter 2006.
  • UPTaft House - Humanitites research at the University of Cincinnati jumped to a new tier with the opening of the Taft Research Center to support advanced scholarship in core humanities and related disciplines of sociology, political science, economics and math.
