Goal 5: Establish a Sense of Place

  • UPFun and Fitness - Campus Recreation Center, a premier fitness and recreation facility, opens February 2006. Members can choose from a wide range of programs from group fitness to yoga to wall climbing to swimming to salsa dancing. The center includes three pools, three multi-purpose fitness rooms, a six-court gymnasium, climbing wall, 224 residence hall beds, six classrooms, convenience store, dining center and café.
  • C-PawUptown Consortium - Partnership with Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, The Health Alliance, Tri-Health and Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens wins $52 million in new markets tax credit to improve the quality of life in neighboring communities and hires a director of neighborhood services.
  • UPExplore UC Card - Targeted visitors enjoy discounts or free admission to Uptown Campus events and services, and at participating neighborhood businesses.
  • UPMainstreet Momentum - Over 200 programs and events make the new student union and pedestrian-friendly corridor a great place for fun, food and intellectual pursuits.
