![]() Vasso ApostolidesProfessor Apostolides joined the Division of Professional Practice in January 1995. She holds a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from Florida State University, a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign, and a Diploma in Architectural Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. Before coming to UC, Ms. Apostolides was a research associate at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Construction Engineering Research Laboratory, in Champaign, Illinois where she designed and tested a pilot information system for the regulations and reports on energy sources and energy conservation measures applicable to army installation facilities. Her previous work experiences in the United States and her native country Greece include architecture and planning/programming work for public agencies, academic institutions and private consulting firms. In her current faculty position at UC, Professor Apostolides is responsible for the professional practice education of half the students in the undergraduate and graduate Architecture programs. Her delivery system includes individual advising/teaching sessions with each student, group meetings, and classroom instruction for the Introduction to Cooperative Education course taught to students in the College of Business Administration. Professor Apostolides also participates in seminars on professional practice to graduate architecture students. Her research and professional interests include developing curricula for optimizing student benefits from cooperative education and exploring learning theories (including adult learning, individual and organizational learning). Professor Apostolides has given conference presentations for the following associations: Cooperative Education Association, World Conference on Cooperative Education, Cooperative Education Division of American Society of Engineering Education, Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning, and American Planning Association. Her work has been published in the Journal of Cooperative Education.
