Eileen Crisanti

Eileen Crisanti is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of Professional Practice. She joined the Division in January 2005 and advises students who are enrolled in three of the University of Cincinnati’s programs: the Bachelor of Urban Planning Program (BUP), the Bachelor of Business Administration/Entrepreneurship program, and the Bachelor of Business Administration/Real Estate program.

Eileen’s overarching goal is to create opportunities for students that maximize their co-op experiences. Through these opportunities students are able to integrate the theories and principles they are learning in the classroom with practical work-related experiences. She does this by actively developing a set of employers that represent the broad range of ways that urban planners, entrepreneurs, and real estate professionals apply their skills professionally. By helping students strategically plan the types of co-op experiences they pursue during their co-op career as a student, she helps guide students toward their longer-term career objectives. Eileen works closely with the School of Planning in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, and with the College of Business where students pursue their academics.

Prior to joining the Division of Professional Practice, Eileen worked for 23 years at the Procter & Gamble Company in Research & Development. She worked at four technical centers in the Cincinnati area, doing project work for brands such as Folgers, Bounce, Downy, Crest, and Dawn. In addition to her technical contributions, Eileen also learned important professional and leadership practices. It is these sought-after business practices that Eileen draws upon in her position within the Division.

Eileen stays active in the planning profession through membership in the American Planning Association and through her volunteer efforts in local planning initiatives. Outside of UC’s campus, Eileen volunteers for the annual Downtown Tour of Living, participates in the annual Ohio River Sweep, and stays busy during tax season by volunteering with the IRS/Legal Aid Society’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.

Eileen holds a Master of Community Planning degree (University of Cincinnati, 2004), a Bachelor of Applied & General Studies degree with concentrations in Anthropology and Sociology (University of Cincinnati, 2001), and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Chemical Engineering Technology (Wake Technical Institute, 1978). Eileen currently lives in West Chester in Butler County and is a native of the Cincinnati area.
