![]() Kathleen RuppertKathleen Ruppert has 22 years experience in the Hospitality Field as a Restaurant Manager, Director of Training, Managing Partner and Director of Human Resources. In January Kathleen joined the team at The Midwest Culinary institute and the College of Applied Science as Co-op Coordinator. The UC Culinary Arts & Sciences degree is designed as a 2 + 3 baccalaureate degree wherein the first two years are fulfilled by the AAS Culinary Arts degree from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. A dual admission program exists between Cincinnati State's Midwest Culinary Institute and the UC College of Applied Science. The upper division CAS curriculum focuses on applied science perspectives and competencies including theory of and experiences in advanced culinary arts and food management. The Culinary Arts & Science degree is a blend of culinary arts and food science with opportunities for the development of analytical skills, as well as artistic ability. The objective of the Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts and Science is to prepare the individuals to make significant contributions to in the food service industry across a broad range of disciplines, from the artistic talents of a chef to the application of scientific knowledge in the design and projection food items. Kathleen looks forward to using her experience and relationships to enhance the learning and Co-op experience for the students.
