Keralyn Thoman began working at the University of Cincinnati in February 2008 as an Athletics Academic Advisor, working with student-athletes on the football and women's soccer teams. Some of her responsibilities include: monitoring NCAA, Big East, and UC academic eligibility standards of student-athletes, assisting student-athletes with priority registration and class scheduling, generating and maintaining reports pertaining to study hall, missed appointments, and grades for coaches. Keralyn sits on various campus-wide committees and has recently been named to the Senior Staff in the UC Athletic Department.
Prior to working at UC, she spent seven years as an Academic Coach through the National Football Foundation’s Play It Smart Program at a Cincinnati-area high school. There, Keralyn developed academic support programs for student-athletes and monitored the students' grades, progress and academic conduct throughout the years. She also conducted various life skills workshops and taught SAT and ACT preparation classes for student-athletes.
Keralyn is a member of National Association for Academic Advisors for Athletics. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from St. Bonaventure University, where she played soccer for four years. In 2002, she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Xavier University. Her husband and her have one daughter, Brooklyn (1).
