Kathy Brown, MA, LISW is the Director of the Center for Community Engagement (CCE) at the University of Cincinnati. Kathy has been in her current position since September 2005. Kathy is a UC alumnus, class of 1974. She received her Masters from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration in 1979.
Since coming to UC, Kathy has been instrumental in increasing the capacity of CCE to serve more students in service to the community and to assuring a higher quality of service to all. Kathy is passionate about reaching out to underserved populations, especially children and youth. As a result, CCE offers UC students an opportunity to commit to an ever growing and successful tutoring program with Cincinnati Public Schools, Bearcat Buddies and a weekly mentoring program with CPS’s Project Connect connecting 30 UC students with 30 children experiencing homelessness, ZooMates.
UC has been named to The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for the past five years for extraordinary and exemplary community service contributions of its students, faculty, and staff in meeting critical community and national needs.
