Jon Weller

Jon Weller, Ph.D, began working at the University of Cincinnati in 2000 and has run the International Admissions Office for the past seven years.  Jon and his team have helped quadruple the number of international undergraduate students enrolled at UC over the past few years.  Jon has helped the University of Cincinnati gain national attention for its international enrollment success and frequently presents at national conferences. Jon plays a significant role in UC’s international strategies and serves on various committees and task forces related to international enrollment and campus internationalization.

Jon’s interest in international service begun as an undergraduate student at Xavier University where he helped created and lead a cultural immersion delegation to El Salvador. He later participated in Xavier’s first service-learning semester program in Kathmandu, Nepal. In addition to his International Admissions responsibilities, Jon is an adjunct instructor in the Department of Organizational Leadership and teaches the popular “How to Change the World” course which introduces students to major social and environmental issues throughout the world and the organizations and individuals working to address them. He also teaches “Changemakers: Lessons Learned through Travel in the Developing World” which includes a 10-day study abroad program in Peru.  Jon is planning to start teaching the new “How to Change America” course in Spring 2015.
