Thomas Osborne

Professor Osborne joined the professional Practice division in 2007. He is a graduate of DAAP (B.S. in design, Industrial) and is a former participant and employer in the Professional Practice program. He has taught as an adjunct in the Industrial design program for over 17 years. His expertise is in design delineation, sketching and rendering. He is also an expert in automotive design history as well as the history of the Indianapolis 500.

Professionally he spent seventeen years at Kenner Toys as director of design and was a partner at SOEDA Design a design and development company specializing in children’s product invention and development. He currently operates a consulting business doing concept development for various companies. He is a published author and artist in both the Indianapolis 500 program and the Brickyard 400 program.

Professor Osborne lives in Cincinnati with his wife of thirty years and his two Dachshunds. He is the father of three grown sons. In his spare time, Professor Osborne restores classic cars and plays in a rock and roll band. Other interest includes drawing and painting automotive subjects.
