Co-op

Transition Calendars

UC officially converts to semesters on August 27, 2012. In order to facilitate the quarter to semester transition, each college participating in the co-op program has created calendars that show the changes in rotation due to the transition to semesters.

Please refer to the graphics below for more information. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this information, please contact your Professional Practice faculty advisor.

College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP):

The architecture program houses co-op programs for undergraduate and graduate students. The attached transition calendar shows the planned co-op rotations for both graduate and undergraduate architecture students by class year from the class of 2013 through the class of 2015 when UC will be in steady state semesters.

NOTE: Starting in spring 2012 the architecture program will become a single section program.  This means that students in one class year will co-op as a cohort instead of being divided into two sections.

College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) and College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services (CECH):

Starting in autumn 2012 architectural engineering, construction management, computer science, computer engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, and materials science will become single section programs. This means that students in one class year will co-op as a cohort instead of being divided into two sections.

NOTE: Summer and fall 2012, there are slight rotation variations for the class of 2014 and 2015 to allow each class to smoothly convert to semesters and stay on track academically.

Aerospace engineering, biomedical engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology and information technology will remain double section programs.

NOTE: Starting in autumn 2012 sophomore students will begin co-oping in either autumn 2012 or spring 2013 instead of winter or spring quarters as we have done in the past.

Also note that in summer and fall 2012, there are slight rotation variations for the class of 2014 and 2015 to allow each class to smoothly convert to semesters and stay on track academically.

Carl H. Lindner College of Business (LCB):

Because the co-op program in the Lindner College of Business is optional and the classes are offered on a more flexible basis than in mandatory programs, students in the College of Business will have a very smooth transition from quarters to semesters. The students will simply continue on their standard rotation cycle into the semester system.
