Each program requires the co-op position to be:

• an experience related to the students discipline.
• a full-time paid position for the dates of the term per the co-op calendar.
• supervised and evaluated.

As an employer, you can plan on year-round student coverage.

• In two section programs you can hire two students to alternate and fill one equivalent full-time position.
• In one section (single section) programs, you can still hire two student to alternate, however, the students will need to be from different class years.

Co-op Schedules

Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP):

DAAP School of Design, and interior design and planning programs will follow a single section alternating schedule as seen below. Students are typically recruited during the semester prior to the work semester.

Bachelor and Master level Architecture Students will follow a single section alternating schedule as seen below that includes only three co-op work terms. Students are typically recruited during the semester prior to the work semester.

College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS):

Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology will follow a two-section alternating semester schedule as seen below. Students are typically recruited during the semester prior to the work semester.

Architectural Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, and Electrical Engineering Technology will follow a single section alternating schedule as seen below.Students are typically recruited during the semester prior to the work semester.

Aerospace engineering will follow a hybrid schedule as seen below. Fall students may be recruited in spring and summer, all other semester needs can be recruited the semester prior to the work semester.

College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services (CECH):

Students in Information Technology will follow a single section alternating schedule as seen below. Students are typically recruited during the semester prior to the work semester.

Carl H. Lindner College of Business (LCB):

LCB students will follow a two section alternating semester schedule as seen below. Students are typically recruited during the semester prior to the work semester.

Co-op Rotation Requirements by Major

The table below indicates the maximum number of co-op rotations required by major, however, students are permitted to request a job change after two semesters with the same company if desired. Some students may remain with a company for all  co-op rotations, however, it is not required.
