Dr. Cora Ogle
biography
Dr. Ogle is a research professor in UC’s Department of Surgery. She shares a life-long connection with the university beginning with her parents, both UC alumni. She went on to earn her BS in Chemistry in 1965 from Trinity College in Washington, D.C., and then earned her PhD at UC in biochemistry. After a short stint in Florida, Dr. Ogle returned to her native Cincinnati, thus beginning her 35 year-career at UC.
When asked why she chose UC for graduate school, she says without hesitation “because of biochemistry’s outstanding reputation,” and that the department offered “excellent research opportunities.”
She is an esteemed member of the medical staff and is a member on many professional organizations including the Society for Leukocyte Biology and the American Association of Immunologists. She is the VP of Research for Nova Cell Biotechnologies in Cincinnati and has been published numerous times since 1971. She has been honored twice by the American Burn Association as a recipient of the Robert B. Lindberg Award in 1994 and the Curtis P. Artz Distinguished Service Award in 1999.
Dr. Ogle has given many hours of volunteer and professional service to the university. She is a UC Foundation Ex-Officio Trustee, a trustee of the Friends of CCM, has served on the Medical School Admissions Committee from 2002-2004 and is a Charles McMicken Society member.
She is married to Jim Ogle Ph.D. College of Medicine Professor Emeritus, Molecular Genetics, A&S ’52.
