"Applying to UC was the best decision I ever made. I immediately got really involved, and found my passion and drive both inside and outside the classroom. I got involved with the Career Development Center, did an internship with Proctor and Gamble, and now I’m the president of ADVANCE! I think that the best way to measure your success in life is to look back and see how many other lives you have positively affected. When you give back you are actually building a legacy because once you touch someone else’s life, it becomes contagious.
I am so thankful for my professors, career counselors, the donors who supported me, and countless others across campus for helping me get to where I am now. These people are touching lives every day and I am eternally grateful for the impact they have made in my life! They have empowered me to believe in myself and have given me the confidence to stand as an independent African American woman from Cincinnati knowing I have the skills to compete in today’s aggressive marketplace."
Ashlee has accepted an offer from an exclusive European marketing and consulting company based in London, and will begin her new position upon graduation.

"The Physician Scientist Training Program (PSTP) at UC is particularly outstanding as it offers our students both top-notch clinical education and cutting-edge medical research opportunities. Upon graduation, our students are amongst the top candidates for highly competitive residency programs. Many of our students are successful in obtaining funding not only from within the university, but also from national research organizations. Our program fosters an environment of collaboration and support to ensure our students’ success.
Our program directors and coordinators are the backbone of our program. Their persistence, commitment, and guidance has enabled the success of our program and students. Not only is the UC PSTP a premiere academic program, but it is also a community of students and faculty dedicated to excellence in clinical medicine and basic science research. I am immensely grateful to my fellow PSTP students, faculty, and staff, for their continued support and encouragement.
UC is a unique environment where faculty, students and staff from multiple programs and disciplines work together to achieve common research and treatment goals. This team approach demands rigorous standards and outstanding results. As a part of this community and our commitment to excellence, I am Proudly Cincinnati."
Jennifer currently works as a graduate assistant and a medical student tutor.

"My scholarships have given me the opportunity to continue my education without an extreme financial burden. Because of this financial relief, I have been able to pursue other opportunities both on and off campus including church mission trips and leadership programs.
The one program on campus that has most affected me in a positive way is the UC Bearcat Bands program. The band teaches true teamwork, dedication and character. I believe that every time I put on that black and red uniform, I become part of something bigger than a school organization. I become a part of a family and a culture that helps shape me as a person. I cannot imagine being at any other university.
I am proudly Cincinnati because I believe in what this university stands for. Whether on an academic or an athletic front, we are successful because of our ability to stand together as one UC community. It’s about working hard, having pride in the 'red and black' and striving to be the best."
Corey is involved in UC's co-op program, but is currently seeking summer employment.

Dr. Deborah Lieberman has been an invaluable help in challenging me and pushing me to achieve my goals. She has made getting through my degree program an enjoyable and worthwhile experience.
I am Proudly Cincinnati because of what this city and university has to offer. Through the people I met here and the connections I have made, I believe I am adequately equipped to handle the next phase of my academic career. This city has endless opportunities."

"Receiving the Dean's List Scholarship was a very uplifting experience for me. The scholarship helped not only my finances but also proved to me that the university was watching and appreciating their students.
I became a better person because of my experiences at UC, through the faculty and staff who believed in me, and through the people I've gotten to know at RWC.
I am Proudly Cincinnati because I have had a wonderful experience at the university. My time has been filled with interesting classes, concerned professors, and those who have been willing to go beyond the scope of their 'jobs' to assist me in my endeavors."
Edward currently works as a lieutenant security officer.

"Receiving this scholarship meant that my hard work had been recognized. It also gave me the strength and courage to want to continue to reach for my goals.
There is no doubt that I probably would not have finished my first quarter at UC three years ago without the encouragement, support and friendship of Dr. Joel Peckham.
Additionally, Dr. Hilvano made me want to achieve nothing but A's and without a doubt made the A&P a fun and exciting course. Lastly, Dr. Wanda McCarthy provided me with guidance and support beyond the classroom, and for that I am so grateful."
