The Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarly Endeavors and Creative Practice (URSC)

The Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarly Endeavors and Creative Practice seeks to educate, engage and empower the undergraduate population and faculty by encouraging collaboration through experiential learning in order to provide students with the skills necessary to obtain the most prestigious positions available to undergraduates.
           

UG Discovery Student Lecture Series

Undergraduate Discovery Student Lecture Series:
In partnership with UC Libraries, our office will provide students with an opportunity to showcase their work through the first ever university-wide Undergraduate Discovery Student Talk Series. Faculty and administrative staff may submit applications for their students to be considered for the URSC Student of the Month Award. Students who receive this award will be invited to speak at this Undergraduate Discovery lecture series. Click on the icon for more information!

Faculty and Administrative Staff are encouraged to nominate outstanding undergraduate students to be considered for the URSC Student of the Month Award. Undergraduate Conference Icon

The Annual Undergraduate Conference: Research, Scholarship & Creative Works:
On Friday April 19th, 2013 over 800 undergraduate students participated, with representation from every college at UC. Students could present their work thorugh either an oral presentation, poster, display table or performance. Click on the icon for more information!

Undergraduate Discovery Workshops:
Our office will host monthly workshops designed to educated students on the necessary steps to take to reach their career goals, as well as gain research, scholarly and creative opportunities at UC. Click on the icon for info about our next workshop!

 

Recon

Research, Education and Creative Opportunities Network (RECON):
A new mentorship program where undergraduate student mentors will be paired with fellow undergraduates that have successfully completed our preparatory workshop. Our RECON mentors will help students become aware of their opportunities by enabling them to shadow their mentor, tour labs, sit in on lab meetings, and network.
