Student Information System Replacement Project Background

The University of Cincinnati is embarking on a project to replace the current student information system.

The first stage of this pre-implementation project has been broken down into two phases:

  • Phase I consists of “as-is” and “to-be” business process documentation and requirements development.
  • Phase II encompasses a gap analysis of leading solutions and an institutional readiness assessment.

Our pre-implementation consulting partner, Collegiate Project Services (CPS), was selected through a competitive-bid process to assist and guide the university through the first stage of the process.

If implementation funding is approved by the Board of Trustees, phases III and IV will commence.

These consist of selecting a student information system and selecting an implementation partner. If deemed necessary by the steering committee, CPS could remain our consultant through all or part of later phases.

CHARGE

Project team members serve as the primary liaisons to the pre-implementation partner for their individual administrative units. Each team member is charged with ensuring that the partner obtains a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the unit’s operations and associated student information system functional and technical requirements.  Team members will ensure that the partner has all information needed to provide UC with a thorough readiness study.  Additionally, each member is responsible for ensuring that all parties are appropriately identified and engaged.
